Public Transport

The cost of using public transportation is generally low. In cities, it is best to travel by tram or bus. Adult tickets cost 6 PLN.

If you’re not familiar with the area, you can take a taxi. Compared to other European countries, taxis in Poland are relatively inexpensive. Prices range from 1.20 to 2 PLN per kilometer. For long taxi rides, it’s advisable to negotiate the fare in advance.

If you plan to travel by train, make sure to calculate the cost of the journey in advance – prices depend on the type of train (local, fast, or express) and class. The comfort level of first class does not differ significantly from second class, while ticket prices can vary greatly. Some trains require seat reservations (these can be made at railway stations in Poland).
