According to the WHO, drinking water in Poland meets satisfactory sanitary standards. However, most people boil the water before drinking it or simply buy bottled water.
Kraków has very good tap water that is safe to drink directly. Outside of Kraków, the water also passes sanitary tests and is considered satisfactory, but due to various sources of supply, it’s advisable to exercise caution and boil the water before drinking to avoid trace amounts of chlorine. A good idea is to use a water filter to improve the taste—something commonly used by both residents and tourists.
