Healthcare and Emergency Numbers

In the event of an accident, sudden illness, injury, poisoning, or a life-threatening condition, you have the right to receive all necessary medical treatment without a referral. In such cases, you should go to the hospital immediately. If you cannot get there on your own, call an ambulance right away (dial 999 from a landline or public phone, or 112 from a mobile phone). In emergency situations where life is at risk, ambulance transport is free of charge.

112 – this is the single emergency number valid throughout the European Union, used to report situations that pose an immediate threat to life, health, property, safety, or public order. It can be used from both landlines and mobile phones, even without a SIM card.

997 – Police (handled by the emergency call center)

998 – Fire brigade (handled by the emergency call center)

999 – Ambulance service
